Recalled Vaio Laptops Get the Hots  14.07.2010

Sony has recalled over half a million Vaio laptops which are overheating so much that they can cause burns and warp the computers. Fortunately, no one has been injured, as reported by techweb.

Any laptop, compared to a desktop computer, is particularly vulnerable to design and manufacturing faults due the marketing and user pressures to put as much as possible into as small a space as possible.

Sony has had its share of problems - battery probems forced an earlier recall excise in 2006. This time, not only was Sony affected, but a number of other computer makers which they sold their batteries to, including Apple, Dell, Lenovo, HP and Toshiba.
